This blog is going to be dedicated to the subject of the Torah/law and the New Covenant.
For a number of years I followed the doctrine (in varying degrees) of the Hebrew Roots/Torah observant movement. In recent years the Lord has shown me the significant problems, the major errors and the hypocrisy of this doctrine.
Lord willing, I will have the time and be able to share the things which God has shown me to deliver me from the bondage of this doctrine and the true freedom of walking with/in Christ through the Holy Spirit. As someone who publicly taught the heretical doctrine of the Torah observant movement, I must make amends for this and show its error.
Its not my desire to strive about the law (Titus 3:9), debate or cause a stumbling block before brethren involved in this movement but I personally led a number of people into this doctrine/movement and am responsible for the harm it has caused. As a result I must make amends/restitution.
I’ve come to the place in my walk where I have no desire to spend a lot of time on the various interpretations of doctrine related to the Bible or push my understanding of doctrine on others. My desire is to keep the focus of the subject matter on this website on relationship with God and glorifying Him through revelations He has shown me (2 Corinthians 12:1). Scripture links doctrine with dung in comparison with relationship with God (Philippians 3:8-11) so my preference is to keep focused on relationship/doing and not on doctrine/theories. My desire is to know God, not know about God.
With that being said, the subject of the law is intimately linked to the concept of being a “little guy in the Eye” of God so it is an important issue to address.
Pro 7:2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
When we look into the “eyes of the LORD” we see ourselves, when He looks into our eyes He sees the Word, Himself. The ultimate goal of walking with the LORD God is that at the end we will look into His eyes and see the Word as well, His image being formed in and through us. To accomplish this, our eyes should be on Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh (John 1:1)…the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Heb 12:2 Looking {ἀφοράω ‘aphoraō’ – fix eyes upon} unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
The Greek word translated as ‘looking’ in Hebrews 12:2 is ἀφοράω ‘aphoraō’ which literally means to turn the eyes away from other things and fix them on a particular object, in this case Jesus. The only way we can walk in God’s love and be the “little guy in His Eye” is to keep our eyes focused on Christ Jesus.
Jesus said if we love Him we will keep His commandments so it is important to understand what this entails in our new covenant relationship with Him.
Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
